Environmental Property Clearance provide clean ups for customers that suffer with Compulsive Hoarding Syndrome, also known as OCD.
Because this is a mental illness, many customers find it hard to disassociate themselves with the items in their house, resulting in nothing being thrown away, which can cause very distressing scenes when entering the property. Our staff have all been trained in mental health, so have a strong understanding how upsetting this can be for the customer and family involved.
Compulsive Hoarding: What we do
When entering the property, our staff will assess the area, and take photos of all the hazards in view. This can range from faeces, human and animal, sharps, drug paraphernalia, insect and rodent infestation, rotting food, and bodily fluids. Often people living with this condition, live in filth. So it may prove impossible to remove the odour and contamination to the untrained professional.
Compulsive Hoarding clean ups should not be treated as a normal clean. Often, there is more accumulated junk and nasty surprises under the mounds of rubbish. Extra care needs to be taken incase of cross contamination.
EPC understand to the family involved how hard, and time consuming it can be to put the property back to a clean, habitable environment. Our aim is to take away all the stress from you, by going above and beyond to help. Because we offer a wide range of services, we can clear, clean and renovate the property.
